Nevada recently passed a law to permit full competency restoration within a jail facility. I'm looking for other jails that have a jail-based competency restoration program to get some insight on the following:
- Things you wish you knew/would have done differently when the program first started?
- Any significant barriers or issues with stakeholders (including the courts, public defender's office)?
- Did you staff the unit like a regular housing unit or did you allocate additional staffing to have oversight of daily operations?
