I am attempting to better define what materials and services we provide to pro se inmates (inmates serving as their own legal counsel). Our current provisions stated to the inmates in their handbook are somewhat broad and simultaneously vague:
Pro Se inmates are provided with supplies and services necessary to facilitate the filing of legal documents; this will include, but may not be limited to, legal size notepads, envelopes, and copying services.
I'm interested in knowing what other jails are doing, and if you have a policy and can share, that would be great as well.
