Our County has been using PTO for prescheduled time off and UPTO for unscheduled time off rather than vac and sick time. Per the Teamsters contract, the first two days of UPTO comes out of the PTO accruals and any day after, comes out of the medical (Sick) accruals. The rule has been very relaxed for call offs. The non rep employees are sick and vacation only. With contract negotiations coming up, we are researching what other facilities are doing. I was curious if anyone else uses PTO and if you would share your work rules with me and any contract language.
